Workshop:

This course introduces the audience to the fundamental concepts and requirements, as well as an in-depth understanding of preparing a statement of purpose (SOP) for getting admission to a university in any field of study. A strong SOP allows students to highlight their overall personality to the university admission committee and the visa officer. It sets you apart as a candidate from the many applications universities receive. If students have a weak profile, a good SOP compensates for it by highlighting your ambitions and future goals. Students' present and future plans are assessed by the university instead of focusing on their past performance. Therefore, writing an excellent SOP is essential for obtaining an admission letter from the desired university and subsequently securing a visa for a study permit. It is noted that every university has its own requirements in the SOP. So, students should visit the university website if there are any specific requirements.

The course covers how to write an SOP, why it is important to invest time and effort, what the basic requirements are, the structure of writing an SOP, the checklist, and the tips for writing an effective SOP. Every student writes the SOP to get admission to an institution. However, among many applicants, your application should pay the attention of the admissions committee. An excellent SOP is one of the essential documents which can make you a better candidate than other applicants. This course highlights these aspects and a step-by-step procedure to write an exceptional SOP.

This course is a good resource guide and an excellent source for students, early researchers, and graduate students who want to learn concepts, key parameters, and criteria to fulfill the requirements of writing an SOP. The course contains a total of four lectures, including a sample SOP, where each lecture comprises 18 to 30 PowerPoint presentation slides and PDF documents. The course is also designed with two quizzes. A certificate of completion will be awarde
